Since the turn of the century, knowledge based Industry, Education and Research have been making rapid strides both by expansion in conventional areas as well as by entering into new and emerging fields. This has resulted in an increase in the number of research, education and training centres as well as industrial units. To reach the pinnacle in these areas, industrially and academically, there is a strong needs to interlink between academia and industry. This would help us to generate the intellectual wealth besides quality human resources.
Life is the basics of all Sciences including the social sciences and emerging ones such as Biotechnology, Life Sciences and Information-Technology etc. Science is the base for Development. Development is the foundation for better Society and Living. It is with this perspective Life Science Foundation India (LSFI) was initiated on 26th January 2006 and registered with Govt. Authority on 19th May 2006 as one of the Scientific, Educational, Charitable, Not-for-Profit, Non-Government, Professional, National Foundation under Indian Trust Act, 1882 having its operation all over nation.
The major objective of LSFI is to mobilize Academicians, Scientists, Industrialists, Policy makers, NGOs, Institutes, Universities, and the public, private entrepreneurs to promote the concepts and practices of emerging disciplines. LSFI is operates on donations, funding, grants from the private and public and self-income generative programs. LSFI works in the domains of Education, Research, Development, Self-Employment, Entrepreneurship, Agriculture, Healthcare, Food processing etc.
LSFI has a mission to promote emerging fields of Sciences & Technology by closer linking between the academia, researchers, policy makers, and developers etc., to help in building up a harmonious society. LSFI has a vision of “Education & Employment For All” through “Scientific Excellence & Social Welfare” for the overall development of the society.
LSFI has initiated elaborative programmes covering such as Scholarships, Awards, Courses, Trainings, Encouraging Innovators, Youths, Seed Funding and Technical Assistance etc. to imbibe Entrepreneurship Skills and Establish New Enterprises etc.
LSFI has been registered with IT department and got approval u/s 12A and 80G of Income Tax Act 1961 (Vide Letter No: F: No: 32 / 80G / CIT – GLB / 06-07 dated 18-07-2007 valid from 25-01-2007 to 31-03-2010). LSFI has planned to get approval as Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) with Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India in the future.
