Award of LSFI Scholarships (Free)
GENERAL
LSFI Scholarships (Free) are instituted by Life Science Foundation India to support and encourage meritorious but needy students as part of its Education Promotional Programmes. Every year applications will be invited from students of Indian Nationality for pursuing studies in frontier areas of any discipline or subject in any of the Indian Universities, Colleges, or Institutes. The scholarships are tenable for one year and extendable up to two years.
- ELIGIBILITY
Students studying, or applied & awaiting admission in any of the university or college in India are eligible to apply. Academic record should be good and consistent and must have passed their previous examination with 50% (45% for female and reserved). The applicants should be above the age of 16 years, and below 33 years (relaxed up to three years for female & reserved categories).
- DETAILS OF THE AWARD
The scholarship will be initially for a period of one year, may be extendable for 2 years based on performance of students. The upper limit of the scholarship will be Rs. 2500/- pm and it may vary depending on the recommendation of selection committee and fund availability. The candidates will be chosen for this award by the panel of Peer Reviewers and Selection Committee. Merit & academic records, present & future plan, societal commitment, research / project plan, family income, character & conduct, co-curricular record etc. will be duly considered while selection of the most deserving student. Short-listed applicants will be interviewed telephonically or by questionnaires or personally to make final selection. The candidates called for personal interview will be paid one-way travel allowances by shortest route. Recommendation made by the panel will be final.
- MODE OF APPLICATION
Interested candidates shall apply in the prescribed application form. Application forms and other information can be obtained from the LSFI office either personally or by post on written request accompanied by a self-addressed stamped (Rs.10/-) envelope (27cm x 12cm). The same information and forms may be downloaded from our website. Duly completed and signed applications may be submitted on or before 31st August.

Award of LSFI Scholarships (Overseas)
- GENERAL
These scholarships are instituted by the Life Science Foundation India with the objective to encourage scholars to demonstrate their ability and intellectual excellence in their chosen areas of specialization. Every year applications will be invited from outstanding students, working persons for Studying / Training / Visiting at any of the foreign Educational Institutes / Universities / Colleges / Centres. These scholarships are not for attending any Scientific meetings / Conferences overseas.
- ELIGIBILITY
The interested candidates must possess good academic record from any stream of subject / discipline (not less than 50%). Candidates must be between the age of 16 and 38 years, and is relaxed up to the age of 43 years in case of female and reserved candidates. The candidates who have already on-roll / applied / planned for Study / Training / Visiting in any Foreign Educational Institutes / Research Centers / Universities / Colleges are all eligible. Both full time students and working persons are eligible.
- DETAILS OF THE AWARD
These scholarships are a kind of financial assistance without any interest. Overseas scholarships are instituted only to encourage needy students / working class persons to pursue / continue their academic goals. The scholarship shall be awarded either full or part to cover any of the expenses (academic / living / travel etc.) for one year or a maximum of two years. The recipients shall return the same amount of scholarship in case selected and availed after two years of completion of studies / employment. Our organization will not be responsible for securing admission / visa etc. The decision and recommendation of the duly constituted selection committee on the number, amount of scholarships etc. shall be final.

- BENEFICIARIES
Poor or middle class or unemployed youths or innovative youths. We encourage women and depriven sect to apply.
The Tunga-Ganga Grameen Bandhu Yojana has been launched with the revolving fund donated from Life Science Foundation India. The financial, technical support will be given either partially or fully to the beneficiaries to take up self-employment, entrepreneurial schemes. This scheme is intended to generate job / employment and utilize the youth – human wealth of the nation at large. The support will be given based on the project novelty and viability. The amount of support is subjected to the fund availability and need of applicant. The financial support is interest free and applicant will bear the institutional charges of 1.5% of the total outlay and has to return in equal installments.
- ELIGIBILITY
Any Poor or middle class or unemployed or educated or uneducated youths who are above the age of 18 years and intended to take up any self-employment are eligible to apply for this scheme. The projects with less or nil gestation period, i.e., immediate income / job generation projects will be given priority.
- HOW TO APPLY
Applications are received around the year. Interested person can obtain the prescribed application format from Executive Director by paying Rs. 80/- by post or in-person. After pre-screening, selected applicants will be invited for presentation or brief interaction. Once final selection is over, applicant has to produce affidavit for receiving and subsequent prompt returning of the same fund. Any matter of dispute restricted to Huvinahadagali jurisdiction.
